This seven-part film series challenges the entire pharmaceutical industry in a way most people would never consider. Each episode of this multi-episode documentary film series focuses on the potential therapeutic use of a wide variety of compounds including DMT, Ketamine, LSD, MDMA, Psilocybin, Ibogaine, and Cannabis. We are examining the merging worlds of the biopharmaceutical companies working on the cutting edge of psychedelic medicines with the archaic techniques of the shaman working directly with the plants themselves. Our mission is to present our audience with a broad view of the therapeutic potential of psychedelics while peering around the corner into the future of psychedelic medicines.

Rick Doblin, Ph.D.

Founder and Executive Director - MAPS.org

Rick Doblin, Ph.D., is the founder and executive director of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). He first founded MAPS in 1986 and still continues today. His professional goal is to help develop legal contexts for the beneficial uses of psychedelics and marijuana, primarily as prescription medicines but also for personal growth for otherwise healthy people.

Dr. Rick Strassman

Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine

Dr. Strassman’s “DMT: The Spirit Molecule,” an account of his DMT and psilocybin studies, has sold more than a quarter-million copies. He also is the author of “DMT and the Soul of Prophecy,” “Joseph Levy Escapes Death,” and a co-author of “Inner Paths to Outer Space.” His new book, "The Psychedelic Handbook : A Step-By-Step Guide to the Transformative Power of Psilocybin, LSD, DMT, Peyote, and More" is now available.

Dr. Dennis McKenna

Principal Founder & President at McKenna Academy of Natural Philosophy

Dennis McKenna, co-founder of the Heffter Institute, is an ethnopharmacologist, research pharmacognosist, lecturer, and author. Dennis has pursued interdisciplinary research in the study of Amazonian ethnopharmacology and plant hallucinogens for over 30 years. Dennis McKenna’s professional and personal interests are focused on the interdisciplinary study of ethnopharmacology and natural hallucinogens.

Wade Davis

Ethnobotanist, Author

Wade Davis is a cultural anthropologist, ethnobotanist, author, and photographer. Wade Davis is also an Explorer in Residence at the National Geographic Society. He is the author of 15 books, including the bestseller, Serpent and the Rainbow. Wade spent more than 3 years in the Amazon and Andes as a plant explorer, living among 15 indigenous groups in 8 nations while making some 6,000 botanical collections.

Ethan Russo, MD

Neurologist, Psychopharmacology Researcher, and Author.

Ethan Russo's research interests have included correlations of historical uses of cannabis to modern pharmacological mechanisms. He is the author of Handbook of Psychotropic Herbs, co-editor of Cannabis and Cannabinoids: Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Therapeutic Potential, and author of The Last Sorcerer: Echoes of the Rainforest.

Jesse Gould

Dr. Kaplan's expertise is in neurophysiology, neuropharmacology, and animal behavior techniques, which his lab uses to study the therapeutic benefits and developmental consequences of cannabis in pre-clinical rodent models. His research seeks to optimize cannabinoid and terpene compositions to maximize benefits and minimize adverse consequences.

Daniel Karlin, MD, MA

Dan is Board Certified in Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, and Clinical Informatics. He is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Tufts University School of Medicine. He graduated with degrees in Neuroscience and Behavior (BA), and Clinical Informatics (MA), Columbia University; Medicine (MD), University of Colorado School of Medicine.

Ekaterina Malievskaia MD

Chief Innovation Officer and Co‑founder at Compass Pathways

Ekaterina received her medical degree from St Petersburg Medical Academy and then moved to the US where she completed her Internal Medicine residency training. She was a Clinical Instructor of Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, as well as a Research Professor at City University of New York.

Prof. David Nutt

Chief Research Officer at Awakn Life Sciences

Prof. David Nutt is the Founding Chair of the charity Drug Science and PAREA the European association for access to research with psychedelics. Previously, he was President f the European Brain Council and of the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology. The Times Eureka science magazine voted him one of the 100 most important figures in British Science.

Prof. Celia Morgan

Head of Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy for Addiction at Awakn Life Sciences

Celia is a Professor of Psychopharmacology at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom. Prof. Morgan completed her undergraduate degree and Ph.D at University College London (UCL) and completed a scholarship program at Yale University. Prof. Morgan is the academic lead for both Exeter Translational Addiction Partnership (ETAP) and Ketamine for Reduction of Alcoholic Relapse (KARE).

Dr. Ben Sessa

Co-Founder and head of psychedelic Medicine - Akakn Life Sciences

Dr Sessa’s joint interests in psychotherapy, pharmacology, and trauma have led him towards researching the subject of drug-assisted psychotherapy using psychedelic adjuncts. In the last 15 years, he has been part of scientific and clinical studies administering LSD, psilocybin, ketamine, MDMA, and DMT to patients and volunteers.
